While oil, gas, and electricity are established commodities, the processes for their production, transportation, and distribution are currently undergoing substantial changes. The energy supply chain is in a state of transformation. Edge computing involves the deployment of small-scale data centers, often referred to as micro data centers and modular data centers, in closer proximity to data sources or users. This approach aims to reduce latency or processing delays, a critical consideration for applications demanding real-time or near-real-time processing. Such applications include data-intensive content delivery and latency-sensitive tasks.
